Hello, we are "KAWAMURA"

「カワムラ」は、2014年冬より夫婦ふたりで「シタマチラボ」として、夫・覚の木工作品を中心に活動を開始しました。 その後、拠点を東京の下町から愛知県名古屋市へと移転。2020年4月には、袋物職人であった祖父の「河村袋物工業」の名を形として残したいという願いと、私たちのものづくりが新たなステージへと進む決意を込めて、屋号を「カワムラ」へと変更しました。 現在は、妻・しほによる「Sewing」の展開も加わり、ふたりの手仕事を通じて新たな表現を追求しています。

Established in the winter of 2014 by a husband-and-wife duo, we originally began our journey as "Shitamachi Lab," focusing on woodcrafts by Satoru. After moving from downtown Tokyo to Nagoya, Aichi, we officially renamed our studio to "KAWAMURA" in April 2020. This change honors the legacy of our grandfather’s workshop, "Kawamura Bag Products," while marking a new chapter in our creative evolution. Since then, we have also launched our "Sewing" line by Shiho, expanding our creative reach together.
